DDC Kupwara holds review meeting at Tangdar

Officers asked to play proactive role in resolving public grievances, reviews winter preparedness

Kupwara :  The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray on Saturday visited far flung Karnah Sub Division to take stock of execution of developmental works, winter preparedness and supply position.

The DDC convened a joint meeting of all district/sectoral officers and PRIs at Mini Secretariat Tangdar.

SDM Karnah, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather, ACD, ACP, CMO, CAHO, DDC Member, NajmaHameed, besides, district/sectoral officers and PRIs were present in the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, the DDC asked the officers to play a proactive role in resolving public grievances so that people do not face any inconvenience in view of the winter season. He directed SDM Karnah to keep coordination with the public and ensure periodic meetings.

Reviewing the stock and supply position of ration and other essential commodities including availability of LPG and medicines, the DDC was informed that 39970 quintal of Rice, 4803 quintal Rice under PMGKAY, 1263 quintal Atta; 123 quintal sugar, 8958 LPG cylinders and 70000 litre of Kerosene is available in various sale outlets in the sub division.

The DDC also reviewed the progress of various developmental works and welfare programmes being implemented in the sub division. He received updated status and feedback from the officers.

It was informed that about 85 kms of road length have been macadamized in the sub division. Besides, it was also informed that many projects have been completed by R&B, PMGSY and other departments while work is in progress on various other projects.

The DDC gave a timeline for completion of all ongoing works and asked concerned officers to submit a status report within a week’s time. He asked them to speed up the developmental tempo in the sub division keeping in view the limited working season due to ensuing winter.

Reviewing the employment generation sector, the DDC directed the concerned officer for establishment of 5 dairy units from every Panchayat in the sub division. He directed the GM DIC for conducting awareness/ enrollment camps under PMEGP.

The DDC also reviewed the progress of various line departments including Education, Health, Social Welfare, ICDS, Youth Services & Sports, Jal Shakti, DIC, Agriculture and allied sectors.

He also heard the public issues projected by DDC Member and PRIs and directed the concerned officers for necessary action. He resolved many issues on the spot by making necessary decisions at the occasion.

Later, the DDC along with concerned officers inspected various ongoing developmental works in Tangdar and Teetwal blocks of the sub division.
