Workshop on Capacity Building for Management Consulting organized at IIM Jmu

Jammu :  The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu organized a workshop on Capacity Building for Management Consulting for the faculty and students at the Institute by Prof. K.R. Chari, Dean Students Welfare, Professor of Operations Management and Chairperson Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED) at Birla Institute of Management Technology. Both the workshops for faculty and students commenced with the introduction of Prof. K.R Chari. The workshop was graced by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, Dr. NitinUpadhyay, Chairperson MBA, Dr. AteequeShaikh, Chairperson IPM, Dr. Mahesh Gadekar, Chairperson Executive MBA, Dr. RashmiRanjanParida, Chairperson Admissions, and other faculty of the Institute. This was followed by a thought-provoking session with the students of IIM Jammu.

For the faculty session, the workshop on capacity building for management consulting revolved around the creation of a winning consultancy proposal and dos & don’ts in Management Consulting. The student session focused on the transition from a linear economy where resources were derived from mother earth, where it was used and then finally discarded.  In today’s world, he stressed the need to have a circular economy, where ideally recovering from those resources that are already used up will pave the way for a sustainable and green planet. His topics of discussion revolved around Detailed Project Reports (DPR), production size, feasibility, and on the four kinds of living creatures.

Prof. K.R. Chari is a multi-faceted management guru and academician. He is a recipient of the ‘National Productivity Champion-2021 for India’ award instituted by the Asian Productivity Origination (APO), Tokyo. He has provided his expert services to more than 200 industrial units and service organizations ranging from large corporations and MNCs to the Cottage industry. His services covered Productivity improvement, Cost optimization, Energy Management, Environment management, and Design optimization in products and processes. He has been invited by many international bodies like the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO), UNEP, SIDA (Swedish International Development Agency), UNEP (United Nations Environmental Program), and UNDP, etc. as an expert and panelist at various conferences and seminars. He has also been on many expert committees of various ministries of the Government of India.

The workshop ended on a positive note with a plethora of learnings for the community of IIM Jammu.
