Srinagar : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad AijazAsad, the District Administration Srinagar on Saturday launched a massive anti-encroachment operations in District of the District and evicted about 206 kanals of Kahcharie/State land in different parts of the City.
A team of Revenue and Police Officers/Officials headed by TehsildarEidgah, IshfaqAhamd Khan conducted an anti-encroachment in Zoonimar-Alijan Road and retrieved about 9 kanals of Government land under survey no. 1266. During the operation 55 kanals of State land inder survey no. 2236 worth crores was also evicted from the land grabbers.
After the anti encroachment operation, the signage boards were also erracted on the evicted land.
Similarly, anti-encroachment drives were launched in the Danihama area in North Tehsil of the District during which 8 kanals of State land was retrieved from the land grabbers by the team headed by Tehsildar North, Kaiser Mehmood.
A Revenue Team headed by Tehsildar South, MoeanAzhar also in an anti-encroachment drive retrieved over 1 kanals of land unde survey no. 1155 from the encroachers at Estate K P Bagh.
In Chanpora Tehsil around 25 kanals of Kahcharai land inderservey no. 2021 was also evicted from land mafia in Nowgam area under the supervision of TehsildarChanpora, SaqibSaleem.
While a major anti-encroachment was launched under the supervision of TehsildarPanthaChowk, Rakib Ahmad during which over 108 kanals of kahcharai land was evicted from the land grabbers at Lasjan, Balhama and Khushipora areas of the Tehsil.
Besides, 12 kanals of migrant land was also evicted from the land grabbers in the Lasjan area of the Tehsil.
Speaking about the anti-encroachment drive undertaken to preserve Government land, the DC Srinagar said anti-encroachment drives will continue in all the parts of the district to retrieve entire State and Kahcharai land encroached by the land grabbers. He said involvement in land encroachment will be dealt with sternly as per the law.
The DC sought cooperation of the general public in its action against encroachments and also warned of action under CrPC in matters of encroachment on State/kahcharie lands.
The DC also lauded the efforts of the concerned Tehsildars and their teams and asked them to continue the anti-encroachment drives in their respective jurisdictions with added zeal and dedication so that all State/Kahcharie land is retrieved.
