MD NHM presents National Quality Assurance Standard Certificate to UPHC Shastri Nagar

Jammu :  Mission Director, NHM J&K, Ayushi Sudan, on Friday presented National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certificate to Dr Ila Gupta, Medical Officer Incharge UPHC, Shastri Nagar, Jammu, at State Health Society, Nagrota, Jammu.

Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has accorded National Certification under National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) Programme to UPHC Shastri Nagar in recognition of high standards of quality in the hospital.

Pertinently, the quality of services being extended in the hospital has been assessed by a team of highly qualified and empanelled assessors from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in the month of July, 2022. The National Certification will be valid for a period of three years subject to annual verification of the scores by the State Quality Assurance Committee.

UPHC Shastri Nagar shall receive an additional annual grant of Rs.3.00 lakh as part of NQAS certification for next three years under National Health Mission for further strengthening, following which there will be re-inspection.

Ayushi Sudan, while congratulating the staff of UPHC Shastri Nagar for this achievement, urged upon all Medical Colleges, District Hospitals and CHCs of J&K to work hard for implementation of NQAS for improved patient care.

Elaborating on the achievement, Mission Director, NHM said that the certification has been accorded to UPHC Shastri Nagar, Jammu, in recognition of “high standards of quality and performance maintained by the hospital”. He informed that all efforts are being made to strengthen the health care delivery system to the utmost satisfaction of general public under NHM.

Others present on the occasion were RajiniCharak, Director P&S, AbhishekTalwaria, FA&CAO, NHM, Dr Jitender Mehta, Programme Manager, Quality Assurance Programme, State Health Society, NHM.
