I&C Deptt hosts SensitisationProgon MSME initiatives

Jammu :  A sensitisationprogramme on various initiatives by MSME including revised Guidelines of Micro & Small Enterprises Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) was organisedon Friday at UdyogBhawan, Rail Head Complex Jammu,.

AnooMalhotra, Director General Industries & Commerce, Jammu welcomed the participants and appreciated the initiatives of MSME-DI Jammu in helping the MSMEs of J&K. She also thanked MSME-DI Jammu for getting special relaxation in land requirement norms for establishment of a Tool Room in J&K.

  1. Velladuria, Joint Director of MSME Development & Facilitation Office, Govt. Of India, Industrial Estate Digiana Jammu gave a detailed presentation on revised MSE-CDP guidelines. He exhorted the General Managers, District Industries Centres of Jammu Division, to come up with new proposals so that MSMEs in Jammu are benefited. He noted that there was a lot of potential for cluster development in J&K, which is still at a nascent stage in J&K.

He described a cluster as a group of enterprises located within a contiguous area or a value chain producing same/similar products/complementary products/services, linked together by common physical infrastructure facilities. He elaborated that the objective of the scheme is to  support the sustainability and growth of MSEs by addressing common issues such as improvement of technology, skills and quality, market access, access to capital  and it can help build capacity of MSEs for common supportive action through formation of self help groups, consortia and upgradation of associations. He explained that creation /upgradation of  infrastructural facilities and common facility centres for testing, training centre, raw material depot, effluent treatment, complementing production processes, in the new/existing industrial areas/ clusters of MSEs are also covered under MSE-CDP.

He apprised that various projects have been approved viz. Up-gradation of Industrial Estate at Lassipura, Up-gradation of Industrial Estate at BattalBallianUdhampur in addition to setting up of the Technology Centre at Industrial Growth Centre, Samba among others.

The meeting was attended by senior officers of the Directorate of Industries & Commerce Department including Joint Director of Industries & Commerce Jammu, General Managers of various DICs along with Functional Managers / Project Managers of their Districts.
