Srinagar: Police on Thursday claimed to have solved a theft case by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime and also said that Stolen cash too has been recovered.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 14th November, Police Station Rajpora received a written complaint from Mohd Yousuf Dar of Tujan who alleged therein that an amount of Rs 28,000/- has been stolen/withdrawn from his account by the unknown person.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 100/2022 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Rajpora and investigation into the case was subsequently initiated police in it’s above referred statement said that during the course of investigation, a special team was constituted and with the help of technical resources, it came to fore that the amount has been withdrawn by using his ATM card at Dalipora ATM outlet by a person wearing mask.
“During further course of investigation the suspect was identified as Shabir Ahmad Poswaal (ATM Guard at Pakherpora ATM) S/o Mohd Qasim Poswaal R/o Sonabanjr Rajpora”, reads the police statement , adding that “the above named suspect was arrested and during questioning stolen money of Rs. 28,000 and four other ATM cards that belongs to different customers was recovered on his disclosure”.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said that further investigation into the matter is going on.
