Srinagar : As the night temperature continues to plummet across the Kashmir Valley, the weatherman on Thursday predicted dry weather for the next ten days.
Director Meteorological Department (MeT), Sonum Lotus said there is no possibility of any wet spell till December 10 as per the forecast.
He said amid the forecast of a dry spell, the temperature would go further down in the valley. “Weather has been cold and dry and there are chances that it will continue to remain so till December 10. There will be severe cold during mornings and nights,” he said.
As far as visibility is concerned, the MeT Director said, “There are hazy conditions and for the coming ten days, we are not expecting any significant improvement in the weather.”
“This season, the maximum cold temperature in Srinagar has been -2 Degrees Celsius and this is normal in the last days of November,” he said, adding, “The temperature can go low to -3 to -5 Degrees Celsius in December.”
Meanwhile, Lotus asked people to take adequate precautions while using heating gadgets to avoid any untoward incident.
“Heating gadgets are silent killers and it is imperative to ensure proper ventilation in the room while using these gadgets,” he said
