Jan Abhiyan: DC Rajouri presides over public outreach camp at Nowshera

Rajouri :  As a part of ongoing Jan Abhiyan under My Town My Pride, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundalhere on Wednesday held a Public Outreach Camp here at Nowshera and listened to the issues and development aspirations of public representatives as well as the locals.

Among the others present during the event were ADDC, Pawan Kumar; President MC Nowshera, Narinder Sharma; DDC Member Sunderbani, Rajinder Sharma; DFO Nowshera, Neelima; ADC Nowshera, Kartar Singh; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ACD, Vijay Kumar; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; CEO Education, ShailashKumari; CMO, Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar and other district and sectoral officers.

Among the issues raised on the occasion included speedy implementation of JJM, scarcity of water, paucity of staff in SDH Nowshera, shortage of electricity transformers and wires, boundary wall for GMS Nowshera, construction of road from Rajal to Hanjana etc.

During the event, different departments had put on stalls depicting schemes and welfare programs being implemented in the district and motivated the public to avail the benefits of the same.

The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to all the issues and demands projected on the occasion and directed the officers to take immediate corrective measures to resolve the issues of public including water supply to areas facing shortage and regular monitoring of power supply etc. He also assured the locals to take up other grievances at appropriate platforJ&K

The DC also laid emphasis upon maintaining close coordination with PRI members so that public issues are addressed immediately especially in case of drinking water, power supply and ration supply etc.

He also called for synergised efforts for hundred percent saturation of all Government schemes and effective delivery of varied online services of the Government.

While responding on the issue of scarcity of water, he said that all the households of the district would be provided functional tapped water connections with the implementation of JJM in the district.

Replying to the issue of dilapidated condition of roads, he asked the concerned officers to take effective measures in this regard and ensure that all the dilapidated roads are repaired at the earliest.

While giving details of measures being taken for the solid waste management in rural areas, the DC apprised that door to door collection of waste has been started in most of the blocks and efforts are being made to cover all the panchayat within shortest possible time.

He also urged the public to ensure their maximum participation in the upcoming My Town My Pride 2.0 program commencing shortly in all the municipalities of the district.

During the event, awareness on ‘RBI KehtaHai: JaankarBaniye, SatarkRahiye’ campaign was also imparted to public. The campaign aims to educate the public about online banking frauds and the ways to prevent such frauds.

As a part of ongoing Jan Abhiyan under My Town My Pride 2.0, the officers of different departments also educated the public about a number of services being implemented in the district and urged them to avail the benefits of the same.

Meanwhile, the DC also distributed thirty Land Pass books among the beneficiaries and exhorted locals to fully reap benefits under Digital governance and engendered services.

Later, the DC also visited waste collection point at HanjanaThakra and asked the concerned officer to ensure effective management of solid waste in rural areas.
