Srinagar : The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbalon Wednesday visited Karhama zone of subdivision Tangmarg (district Baramulla) and held an interactive meeting with the representatives of panchayat raj institutions.
BDC Hardaboora and concerned sarpanches and panches of Karhama area were present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director said that the department is working in close coordination with the panchayat Raj institutions to achieve the targets under different centrally sponsored schemes, flag-ship programmes.
The Director discussed various farmer centric programmes with the PRI members and highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between the department and PRIs.
Concerned Block Development Council chairperson hailed the role of the Agriculture department in meeting the demands of hybrid vegetable seedlings to the catchment areas of zone Karhama.
PRI representatives also raised the demand for some agricultural machinery equipment in front of the Director Agriculture. He assured them that all the genuine demands will be addressed in a phased manner.
Chief Agriculture Officer BaramullaYadvinder Singh, Water Use Specialist NeloferQureshi and other senior officers of the department were present in the meeting.
