Jammu : Commissioner Secretary, Science & Technology, Saurabh Bhagat on Wednesday chaired meeting to review both the organizations of Science & Technology Department to discuss issues related to the budget announcements, deliverables and action taken report with regard to its implementation and outcome achieved so far.

The meeting was told that the matter has been taken up with NCSM, Ministry of Culture, GOI for sending the team of experts to have the site inspection at Chowadhi,  Jammu so that the process for transfer of land is taken up further with the revenue authorities.

Regarding the sponsored Research & Development Projects of Jammu division, it was disclosed that the research is being undertaken at various R&D Institutions viz. Jammu University, SKUAST-J, SMVDU, Katra, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Central University of Jammu, IIIM etc.

Commissioner Secretary issue directions on the spot to the concerned officers, asking all the Principal Investigators (PIs) to come up with the detailed outcome of the research findings so far with recommendations and suggestions along with proper documentation so that  it could be published in the form  of book.

Pertinent to mention that during the first tranche, JKST&IC has funded 123 Research Projects across J&K and further it was decided in the meeting that Rs.20.00 to 24.00 Cr in the second tranche should be earmarked for 200-250 projects.

SaurabhBhagat impressed upon the officers of JAKEDA to fast track their efforts in order to create massive awareness about the Non-Conventional & Renewable Energy. He also emphatically spoke about the benefits of the PM-Kusam and asked the officers to make it successful across Jammu & Kashmir.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Dr.Nasir Shah, Additional Director; Dr. P.R. Dhar, CEO, JAKEDA; Shafiq Ahmad, Additional Secretary, S&T Department; Sanjay Kharoo, SunitaRazdan, Joint Directors, M.A. Bhat, RashimDeepika and FA/CAO.
