Week-long Shehri Jan abhiyan commences at B’gam

Mass awareness campaigns starts in all 6 Municipalities of the Distt

Budgam :  As a precursor to “MY Town MY Pride-2”programme, a weeklong Shehri Jan Abhiyan commenced on  Monday in all the six municipalities of District Budgam viz. Budgam, Beerwah, Chadoora, Charar I Sharief, Magam and Khanshib.

Officers/officials of all sectors briefed the public regarding different aspects of activities to be taken under week-long Jan Abhiyan and My Town My Pride-2 programme.

The week long Pre-“My Town My Pride ‘Shehri Jan Abhiyan’, has been devised to focus on  the redressal of public grievances (Jan Sunwai), public service delivery (AdhikarAbhiyan) and hassle free development of all sections of society.

To give the public a feel of doorstep governance, shehriabhiyan provisions that the district administration shall identify the target population for every service, individual beneficiary schemes and various certificates in order to ensure that the targeted population is widely covered.

For the development being the fundamental objective, shehri Jan abhiyan aims for a mega push towards development activities by taking up of maximum possible works on ground, commencement of works already approved under plan, execution of District & UT plan works and also implementation of other centrally sponsored schemes.

During the campaign, in the MCs awareness camps were organised regarding different schemes of the Government. People of the area were apprised about various benefits of different Government schemes, initiatives which people can obtain by online mode domicile certificates, self-employment loans, Sehat Golden Cards, pension payments, and digital certificates besides verifying their land records.

Digital camps would also be held in every Municipality and at J&K Banks counters.

This programme involves 35 departments of the government that have been selected and every department has been assigned deliverables, which are of critical importance to the public.

“Several important actions such as saturation in Ayushman Bharat Golden Cards and other related welfare oriented schemes will be taken during the shehri Jan Abhiyan campaign.

The shehri Jan Abhiyan campaign would focus on youth, skills, self-employment, and good governance, along with “NashaMukt and RozgarYukt J&K”.

Every department has been given different welfare oriented tangible deliverables to be achieved during the shehri Jan Abhiyan in the district.

Besides these deliverables, various sports activities and plantation drives were organised in different municipal areas of Budgam under this programme across six municipalities of the district.
