Police organises one day workshop on road safety & traffic awareness in B’gam

Budgam : Police in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Saturday organized one day workshop on ‘Road Safety & Traffic Awareness’ at Govt Hr. Secondary School Chadoora township of the district.

According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem graced the occasion as chief guest. The programme was also attended by Principal Govt. HSS Chadoora Huma Mir,

SDPO Charar-e-Shareef  Salim Jehangir, Sr. PO Budgam Voonesh Sangotra  and other officers of the police. Moreover, various students and teachers attended the programme with full enthusiasm.

 

An insightful lecture delivered by SSP Budgam on road safety & traffic awareness. He raised public awareness about traffic rules to reduce casualties due to road accidents. He added that thousands lose their lives in road accidents on yearly basis mainly due to a lack of awareness or ignoring traffic rules and hence it is our obligation to make our youth aware of the traffic rules. Moreover, a detailed PowerPoint presentation on road safety was presented by the chief guest.

Sr. PO Budgam Voonesh Sangotra delivered his speech on legal aspects of road

safety & traffic awareness. He spoke about Supreme Court guidelines for

school buses and drivers and penal provisions under Motor Vehicle Act 1988.

Moreover, SDPO Charar-e-Shareef also stressed the important aspects of

road safety & traffic awareness on the occasion. Later on, SSP Budgam administered an oath to all participants to obey the traffic rules in letter and spirit. At the end of the workshop, Principal Govt HSS Chadoora concluded the

programme by a vote of thanks to the Police for conducting such

awareness programmes.
