KVK Kulgam organizes first-ever Agricultural Drone Demonstration ceremony

Kulgam  : The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Saturday organised a first-ever agricultural drone demonstration ceremony under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor (V.C) SKUAST Kashmir, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai.

Director Extension SKUAST-K, Professor Dil Mohammed Makhdoomi; Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad; Associate Director Research MRCFC Khudwani, Professor Najeeb Ahmad Sofi; Chief Agriculture Officer District Kulgam, Sartaj Ahmad Shah; District Subject Matter Specialist Department of Horticulture Kulgam, Nisar Ahmad; District Agriculture Officer, Dawood Ahmad Lone; Assistant Director Fisheries, Mushtaq Ahmad;  50  progressive farmers of the District and  Media persons participated in the programme.

After the inauguration of the drone, the VC, SKUAST Kashmir addressed the participants and stressed on the adoption of latest technology in agriculture for increasing its economic productivity, reducing environment pollution and for attracting youth to agriculture.

He lauded the KVK Kulgam for a good technological step in the right direction. He also emphasized on custom hiring centers of the latest agricultural technology for easy access to the farming community.

Director Extension SKUAST-K congratulated the KVK for the drone technology adoption and highlighted the need for its popularization among the farming community for saving time, money and energy.

ADDC Kulgam emphasized on the need of clean technology for sustainable environmental safety.

Live demonstration of pesticide spray in the KVK Farm through an agricultural drone was also conducted.

The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Sr. Scientist and Head, KVK Kulgam, Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Ganai.
