Srinagar : Chairman Jammu & Kashmir  Peoples Democratic Front ( JKPDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has sought  personal intervention of LG Manoj Sinha for starting  work on Sukhnag mini hydle power project as early as possible . He has also underscored the need for construction of an all weather  macedamised road from Khag upto Tossamaidan tourist resort to generate economic and other tourism related  activities for the local youth .

Addressing a meeting of the PDF workers of Khag area in central district Budgam on Saturday  Hakeem  while urging the need for construction of Sukhnag mini hydle power project ,flagged this vital power  project  imperative for socio – economic transformation of this backward area. He said the techno- feasibility clearance  of the power project stands  already  approved  by the Planning department and the cabinet during previous civilian governments.  The meeting , which was attended by a large number of workers and prominent civil society members ,  held threadbare discussion on the prevailing socio- political situation in Jammu and Kashmir and  developmental aspirations of the people.  On this occasion , Block president of PDP along with several party members joined PDF and expressed thier faith on the leadership of PDF Chairman Hakeem Yaseen. All the new entrants from PDP were warmly welcomed in the PDF party fold.  Hakeem said  Khag area like other parts of Khansahib constituency has been neglected on all fronts adding that in absence of an elected civilian government ,  development urges of the people have come to a grinding halt . He said erratic power and water supply and dilapidated condition of roads all over the  khag area have made life of  people miserable adding that government should take up  urgent measures to provide basic services to the people.

PDF Chairman also  underscored the need for early  restoration of political process in jammu and kashmir to address the aggravated problems of the  aggrieved people. He said early Assembly elections in Jammu and kashmir was  need of the hour to remove the prevailing socio – political uncertainity on ground .

He said in absence of an elected civilian government ,  people of jammu and kashmir feel themselves socicialy as well as  politically disempowered adding the restoration of of political process   was all the more necessary  to address sense of deperivation and alienation among the people .   Hakeem asked PDF cadres  to reach out to people at gross roots level to make them aware about the mechanations of the self centered political parties who thrive on politics of deceit and lies.
