Baramulla  : Government Degree College (GDC) Baramulla and its NCC Unit Saturday organised a blood donation camp within the college campus, here.

The Camp was inaugurated by the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar in presence of Principal GDC Baramulla and other senior functionaries of concerned departments.

On the occasion, all the NCC cadets along with the staff members were seen taking greater initiatives both as volunteers and donors.

While encouraging the donors, Dr Sehrish said that blood donation is a noble and harmless service to humanity which benefits both, the donor as well as the recipient. She said that our single drop of blood can save precious lives and we should participate in such programmes for safeguarding humanity.

Furthermore, the DC urged people to come forward for blood donation and said that the Administration highly recognizes and appreciates the selfless service of the blood donors for the entire society.

Other prominent figures also spoke on the occasion and advocated for continuing such activities in different regions of the district so as to supplement the efforts of the health department in delivering patient and medicare services.
