Rajouri : Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Celebrated Constitution Day with patriotic fervor and gaiety. In the lawns of the Vice Chancellor’s secretariat, the occasion was celebrated with all its solemnity in the presence of Prof. Akbar Masood the Vice Chancellor of the University.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Centre of the University the Vice Chancellor Prof. Akbar Masood led the participant in the reading of the ‘ Preamble to the Constitution’ first in Hindi and later in English. The Vice-Chancellor also administered Pledge to uphold Fundamental Duties both in Hindi and English to all the participants present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Akbar said that Constitution Day is celebrated in our country on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect on 26th January 1950.
A large number of participants including Prof.Iqbal Parwez Dean Academic Affairs, Mohd Ishaq Registrar, Deans, Associate Deans, HoDs, Faculty Members, officers, and students of the University were present on the ocassion. The event was coordinated by Dr. Gourav Sehgal.
