LCMA convenes 124th BPA meeting; approves 26 cases on merit

Srinagar :  The J&K Lake Conservation & Management Authority (LCMA) Thursday convened 124th meeting of the Building Permission Authority (BPA) under the chairmanship of Dr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Vice Chairman, LCMA at Dockyard, Nishat, NFR-Srinagar, here on Thursday.

The agenda for the meeting was discussed threadbare and 33 cases were decided out of which 26 were approved, 03 cases were deferred while 04 cases were rejected by the BPA on merits.

The minutes of the meeting of 124th will be uploaded on the official website of the Authority (www.jklda.org) once approved

Among others, Chief Town Planner of Kashmir, Joint Commissioner (P) SMC, Secretary LCMA, Collector LCMA, Executive Engineer Lake Division 2nd  LCMA, Executive Engineer Electric Inspection Division, Enforcement Officers LCMA, and  representatives of Executive Engineer  UEED Division 1st, PHE,  TehsildarKhanyar and TehsildarNazool  as members of the Building Permission Authority were present in the meeting.

Moreover, the Tripper/Load carrier owners are directed not to carry any type of illegal construction material in the prohibited area of Dal/ Nigeen Lake without proper permission from the concerned authority.

Vice Chairman J&K LCMA who is also the Chairman of BOCA has requested the people residing in the local jurisdiction of LDA to apply for proper building permission through its building permission authority, before starting any sort of Construction.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Wing of LCMA Thursday took a demolition drive in the areas of BakhriMohalla Dal, SaidaKadal and Saderbal/ Kanitar where 01 2nd Storey, 01 Shop and Tin Walling were demolished/ removed.

Further, legal action against the violators was also initiated. People in these areas have been warned not to resort to any illegal constructions/ encroachments and were asked to get proper building permission from the competent Authority before taking any construction in hand.
