Government schools have historically been undervalued or neglected. They are viewed as being swarming, filthy, underfunded, and outfitted inadequately. Despite the fact that this situation is generally true to a significant extent in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir .But this school in my home town Quazigund is ideal school in Valley because of its array of amenities for sating pupils’ curiosities. Government Middle School Drinen Quazigund presently headed by my childhood teacher Mr. Reyaz Ahmad Khan @“My Reyaz Sir” today vibrated the social media platforms and the videos of annual Day celebration of this model school had gone viral with millions of views, likes, comments and shares. I am at a loss for words to adequately describe this government institution, which presents a challenge to the expensive private schools that charge for high-quality education. The unanticipated performance by pupils of this school during the annual day celebrations has mirrored the reputation of government schools. The dignitaries especially Chief Education Officer Anantnag, ZEO Quazigund, and Tehsildar Quazigu Quazigund were obliged to spend hours together there due to the diverse activities that the children presented on Annual Day that thrilled viewers’ curiosity. All of the dignitaries were left awestruck by the performance of ideal students. The cultural performance was truly astounding and more captivating than the performances of the top private schools of the valley. This ideal school came to lime light when one of my childhood Teacher’s Mr. Reyaz Ahmad Khan joined this school as Rehber-e-Taleem Teacher a decade before. An exceptional and committed educator like Mr. Reyaz sir deserves praise from all facets of society. He is really a gem in the education department, His dedication is praise worthy not only as a government teacher, but he has been my teacher and mentor since class 1st in a local private school where he was teaching on a meager salary of Rs. 800/month, Being underpaid he never compromised with his dedication and was teaching with great passion and enthusiasm. Reyaz Sir was praised today by everyone, from the Chief Education Officer to the Tehsildar, for his dedication, which gave him a terrific personality. He is an astonishing and true teacher.
Even Tehsildar Quazigund advocated awarding this exceptional mentor on the upcoming Republic Day after observing his commitment, enthusiasm, and tenacity. The welcome address by the Deaf and Dump girl student “Aisha,” whom Reyaz sir had specifically trained in a regular government school with his innovative ideas and skills, was the event’s most outstanding obsession. As one of his taught, I think my teacher ought to be put forward for the Best Teacher award at the national level for this outstanding work.
Bottom-line: The second issue I want to address is the negative perception of government schools, which has left a lasting impression on individuals. It has become controversial for just underprivileged children to attend government schools. However, I would want to add that if the government is really sincere about strengthening its public schools and removing parental taboos, then it is imperative that we all take a vow and enroll our children in public institutions. Second, every teacher needs to be made accountable and responsible like Reyaz sir to work for the welfare of society, since doing so will be the greatest tribute to remarkable educators like Reyaz sir.
