Distt Fencing Championship held at Ramban

Ramban :  District Fencing Association, under the aegis of Adhoc Committee of J&K Amateur Fencing Association, on Thursday organized  District Fencing Championship here at Community Hall Maitra.

As many as 150 students hailing from the different Government and private schools, besides other institutions of the district participated in the Championship.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, HarbansLalSharma  was the Chief Guest. while District Youth Services and sports officer, Dharmveer Singh was the Guest of Honour.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADC lauded the District Fencing Association and Adhoc Committee of J&K Amateur Fencing Association for organizing the District Fencing Championship at Ramban. He also congratulated the young players for representing UT at the national level, besides winning medals at national level competitions.

The ADC informed the students about the importance of sports for their overall development and scope of fencing sports at UT, National, and International levels. He also appreciated the talent and interest in co-curricular activities. He also assured full cooperation from the District Administration to promote Fencing and other sports in the district.

In the EPPE Girls category, MuniraBanoo won the Gold medal, Shweta Devi, Silver, TahiraBanoo and  AafiaBanoo,  Bronze. Ahmed Savood clinched the Gold medal, Anand Singh, Silver,  Sahil Ahmed and ModhUsman, Bronze in EPPE Boys under 14 category.

In FOIL Boys under 14 category, Rakib Ahmed won the Gold medal,  Asif Ahmed silver,  Sayer Ahmed and  Arun Singh Bronze whereas under the Boys 17 category Said Ur Rehman won Gold Medal,  Mehjoor Ahmed Silver,  Irfan Ahmed, and Rashid Ahmed Bronze medal.
