DC Srinagar chairs DisttLevel Aadhaar Monitoring Committee meet

“Over 10.37 lac Aadhaar cards issued in Sgr; Action plan for saturation of Aadhaar cards & mandatory biometric update finalised”

Srinagar :  In order to finalize the action plan for saturation of Aadhar cards and mandatory biometric update in all age groups, a meeting of District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee was held Thursday under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad AijazAsad at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex, here on Thursday.

SP Headquarter, Arif Amin Shah; Programme Officer, ICDS, ZeenatAra; Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Yaseen Lone; District Statistics & Evaluation officer, AnikaMushtaq; District Health Officer, Dr Anjum; District Informatics Officer, Farooq Ahmad; District Coordinator, CSC, AsrarShirazi; representative from UIDAI, Shoaib Khan and other concerned were present in the meeting.

While, ADG UIDAI, SandeepMahajan and Deputy  Director  UIDAI, Ashutosh Jain participated in the meeting through virtual mode.

At the outset, the DC held a threadbare deliberation about a mechanism to be adopted for Aadhaar saturation in all age groups and mandatory biometric update of children in the district.

The DC also took a detailed review of the statistics of Aadhaar saturation process under different age groups and status of AadhaarSevaKendras operating in Srinagar.

On the occasion, the DC was also briefed on the initiatives being undertaken to cover the age groups of 0-5 years, 5-18 years and above 18 years in the District. .

The DC asked the Programme Officer ICDS and Health Department to ensure all children in the age group of 0-5 are enrolled at concerned Anganwadi Centres and immunization centres.

The DC also asked for establishing special Aadhaar enrolment counters in main health institutions of the District including LalDed and Paediatric hospitals to ensure Aadhaar registration/enrolment facility for new born babies so that all new born are registered at well time to push the saturation process.

The DC also asked the Officers to submit progress of Aadhaar registrations on a daily basis.

Terming the Aadhaar enrolment a multi-agency process, the DC called upon all concerned Departments to launch mass awareness campaigns in their jurisdictions to cover all population under Aadhaar enrolment.

ADG Aadhaar suggested that awareness programs and camps should be held to cover the left out population.

DC stressed that progress of Aadhaar enrolment target of children between 0-5 years and 5 -18 years must be achieved cent percent in a time bound manner. He asked the Officers of ICDS and Education Departments to monitor progress in the target population by notifying the schedule of project/school wise camps in coordination with UIDAI.

Earlier, the DC was informed that as many as 73 Aadhar enrolment centres including 23 in SSA(School Education) and 7 kits in ICDS are presently operational in Srinagar to facilitate citizens to get Aadhar cards besides update already issued cards.

The meeting was informed that over 10.37 lakh Aadhaar cards have been issued in Srinagar so far.
