Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Pulwama and also recovered a huge quantity of contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police Party from Police Station Rajpora at a checkpoint established at Pachhar intercepted two suspicious persons who tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully, Stating therein further that during checking 1Kg of dried Cannabis concealed in two Nylon bags were recovered from their possession.
Stating that both the said accused have been identified as Aqib Fayaz Wani S/o Fayaz Ahmad Wani R/o Bamnoo and Zubair Ahmad Wani S/o Bashir Ahmad Wani R/o Ichgooz Pulwama and were subsequently arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, Police in it’s above referred statement further that a case vide FIR No.96/2022 was registered under relevant section of law at Police Station Rajpora and investigation has been taken up for further course of action.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement Police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and reiterated that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
