DC appreciates Panchayats for taking initiatives at their own level

Kupwara :  District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray on Wednesday chaired a mega block diwas function at Payerpora in block Hyhama of Kupwara district.
ACD Kupwara, DFO Kamraj, LDM, Executive Engineers of PDD/ PHE/R&B, AD Food, besides, Sarpanchs from various Gram Panchayats and people in large number attended the block diwas function.

Addressing the function, the DDC said that the Block diwas event is conducted by the District Administration every Wednesday which provides a platform to meet the people at their doorsteps and redress their day to day developmental issues.

Referring to the employment generation, the DDC said that Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) has been launched in the district in which financial assistance is provided to the unemployed youth to start their self income generation units adding that there is no need of any collateral security/ guarantor upto Rs.10 lakh lakh.

He said that PMEGP camps are being conducted in every block of the district and appealed to the unemployed youth to enroll themselves under the scheme.

The DDC asked the officers from administration to take feedback from the PRIs for rederssal of their genuine issues.

Regarding power supply, the DDC appealed to the people to avoid using crude heating devices so that power supply could not get interrupted due to overloading.

He directed concerned officials to put strict vigil on the use of crude devices to ensure power supply do not get interrupted unnecessarily.

Regarding water supply, the DDC was informed by XEN PHE that work is apace on Bongam-Hyhama water supply scheme in the area and 3000 out of 8000 households have been connected so far. The DDC directed the concerned engineer to ensure that the rest of the households are connected by the month of January.

Meanwhile, Sarpanchs and senior citizens of the area put forth their developmental issues before the DDC who gave them patient hearing.

The DDC resolved on spot various issues raised by the PRIs and people regarding Road, Electricity and other developmental issues. He directed the concerned officers to pursue the issues and ensure timely redressal of the issues raised during the block diwas.

During the block diwas, the DDC appreciated various RDD and Panchayat works executed in the hyhama block. He said 26 AmritSarovars have been made in the block which will benefit the generations to come adding that estimates of 675 works in the area have already been taken up and sanctioned.

He also appreciated the installation of X-Ray plant by panhcyat in NTPHC Gonipora.

Earlier, the DDC inspected Panchayat work related to the construction of 2 shops at a cost of Rs. 7.5 lakh at block office Hyhama.
During the visit to Hyhama block, the DDC inaugurated Food Godown at Manigah.

Block diwas was also held at NeeliporaMagam and NachiyanKarnah. Both the functions were chaired by concerned Tehsildars.
