AH&H Deptts Oganise awareness prog “PM-FME” at Khansahib

Budgam : Department of Animal Husbandry Budgam which is nodal agency for implementation of PM-FME Scheme in Budgam District organized mega-awareness programme on “PradhanMantri-Formalization of Micro food processing Enterprises Scheme (PM-FME Scheme) ” in collaboration with Department of Horticulture (P & M) Budgam, which was held at Town Hall Khansahib.

A Large number of Progressive Farmers associated with different farming practices, unemployed educated youth of the area, and different Self Help groups attended the awareness camp.

SatyaBushan, area Marketing Officer, Department of Horticulture Planning & Marketing Budgam; DrJaved Ahmed Superintendent District veterinary Hospital Budgam; Manzoor Ahmed Wani HDO Khansahib and other Officers from Animal Husbandry, agriculture & allied departments addressed the gathering and made people aware about different aspects of the scheme.

At the outset, DrJaved Ahmed, Superintendent District veterinary Hospital Budgam, gave the brief introduction of PM-FME scheme and said that earlier it was restricted to one product for one district, but now the scheme is available to set up processing units of any agricultural product under non ODOP products. “The scheme has a number of benefits like 35% subsidy with the interest subvention of 3% under Agriculture infrastructure fund along with full guidance. He further assured the farmers of providing adequate hand holdings in availing the benefits of different schemes.

Experts from Animal Husbandry & other allied Department also threw light on processing of milk to dairy products/ value addition of milk, horticulture & agricultural products as a Viable Livelihood Option for Income & Employment Generation. Participants were sensitized towards the potentials in establishment of Micro food processing units under “PradhanMantri-Formalization of Micro food processing Enterprises Scheme.”

During the programme many participants showed interest & full motivation in establishing different micro food processing units under PM-FME Scheme (ODOP).
