Rajouri : Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Professor Akbar Masood on Wednesday declared open inter-departmental games on the University premises. The sports event is being organized by the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports of the University.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Akbar advised the students to make sports a part of their lives to lead a meaningful life. While interacting with players Prof. Akbar said,” playing games will make you physically fit and mentally alert.” Prof. Akbar said that this event aims to provide a platform for University students to showcase their talent and make their way to represent the country in various sports at national and international levels.The Vice-Chancellor congratulated the participating students and hoped that they would give their best performance during the competitions. More than 200 students including men and women will participate in various games including Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Tug of war, Badminton, Chess, Table tennis, and Carom. The Vice-Chancellor applauded the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports for organizing the event. Those who were present at the opening ceremony included Prof. Iqbal Parwez, Dean Academic Affairs, Mohd Ishaq, Registrar, Incharge Directorate of PE&S, Deans and Heads, Officers, and officials of the University.
