Dulloo reviews dairy Dev in JK

Jammu : Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Agriculture Production Department, AtalDulloo, on Monday chaired a meeting to review physical and financial progress under National Programme for Dairy Development being implemented by JKMPCL (EIA) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Chief Executive Officer, Jammu Kashmir Milk Producers Cooperative Limited (JKMPCL), Gaurav Sharma, gave a Powerpoint Presentation informing that around 45 thousand milk producer members have been associated with them through 985 Dairy Cooperative Societies as on October 2022.

He further informed that tenders have been floated for automation of dairy villages and enhancement of milk chilling infrastructure. Besides, total Chilling Plant Capacity of 200 thousand litres per day and Dairy Plant Capacity of 150 thousand litres per day has been achieved by the cooperatives. He also shared information regarding progress on 50 TLPD Ultra High Temperature processing plant at Satwari, Jammu and enhancement of milk processing at ChashmaShahi, Srinagar.

Dulloo reviewed various issues like allotment of land to JKMPCL at Jammu and Kashmir divisions and introduction of enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions. He also took stock of status of General Body meetings being organized at the village level.

Regarding status of Lumpy Skin disease, ACS was informed that 10 lakh tablets and 1 lakh tablets for de-worming of cattle have been given to associated farmers by the JKMPCL on free of cost basis.

ACS called upon the officers to work hard towards formation of around 3 hundred cooperatives in the next two months with an average enrolment of 3 thousand members every month in J&K. He also encouraged them to increase plant capacity, daily average milk procurement and incremental growth in production of milk and its products.

He assured that the land issues at Budgam and Jammu would be addressed on priority.

The meeting was attended by Mission Director, J&K Dairy Mission, BN Singh; Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Shubra Sharma; Divisional Incharge JKMPCL Kashmir, Shabahat Kareem; Plant Incharge JKMPCL Jammu, Sardar Chand; Admin Head JKMPCL, Farooq Ahmad Najar and Procurement Incharge JKMPCL Jammu, Mushtaq Ahmed while Director Animal Husbandry Kashmir, Purnima Mittal and Technical Officer, Agriculture Production Department, Dr Arif participated through video conference.
