The meeting was informed that two Child Care Institutions are established in the district viz. MarkaziFalahiItifal and Duri-Yateem Social Welfare Organization and both are registered under Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.

For effective implementation of the scheme, the DC called upon the concerned officials to widen their reach and intensify public outreach programmes under ICPS. He said that the scheme is based on the cardinal principle of protection of child rights and best interest of the child.

He asked the concerned officials to adopt a realistic approach in fulfilling the objectives of ICPS to contribute for improving the wellbeing of children in difficult circumstances, as well as reduction of vulnerabilities to situations and actions that lead to abuse, neglect, exploitation, abandonment and separation of children.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; DySP HQ, District Juvenile Welfare Officer and other officials of District Child Protection Unit.
