Bandipora : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Monday chaired a meeting of the Mining Plan Approval Committee.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held on allowing mining on scientific patterns and in accordance with the mining plans submitted before the Mining Plan Approval Committee.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC stressed all committee members that it shall be ensured that extraction of minerals is done without disturbing the ecology.
He also stressed that mining shall be done as per the already laid down guidelines.
The DC directed concerned departments to identify spots and quantify the minerals suitable for de-silting to allow mining for Government works.
ACR Parvaiz Rahim, Joint Director Geology and Mining, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, DFO Bandipora and other concerned attended the meeting.
ADC BandiporaWaseem Raja, Regional Wildlife Warden Kashmir, Tehsildar Bandipora, TehsildarSumbal also attended the meeting through virtual mode.
