Srinagar : The 4th Narco Coordination meeting (NCORD) was held at Sheikh ulAlam Hall DC Office Budgam. The meeting was presided over by DC Budgam Syed Fakhrudin Hamid and convened by SSP BudgamTahir Saleem Khan.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that at the outset of the meeting, SSP Budgam threw light on the drug abuse, its causes and prevention. He briefed about the measures adopted by Budgam police for prevention of drug abuse. Later on, DC Budgam laid emphasis on various control measures including Creating WhatsApp groups for sharing intelligence regarding Narcotics between various stakeholders, identify and monitor areas where contraband substances are cultivated, small short Tele-movies must be shown in Schools and Colleges regarding effects of drug addiction on the health of students, assessing the requirement of medicines and other medical equipments required for the treatment of drug addicts etc.
Police in it’s above referred statement also said that the Feedback of last 3 NCORD meetings was also obtained from the officers and stakeholders which were held on 30-06-2022, 30-08-2022 & 17-10-2022. SSP Budgam also briefed the officers of Excise, Drug Control and Health Department to take all measures in controlling the drug menace. Threadbare discussion was made about control of contraband cultivation and all stakeholders were advised to do scientific mapping of those areas of district Budgam where such cultivation is being done. DSWO Budgam stressed upon the officers to implement the agenda points in letter and spirit to make district Budgam a Drug Abuse free district.
