Srinagar : The Police on Monday said that it has arrested four persons who were involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals and also seized 4 vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Chadoora during night patrolling seized four vehicles one JCB Machine, 3 Tippers and also arrested 4 persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from government land at two separate locations at Nowpora Chadoora and Magraypora Chadoora.
Stating that the arrested persons have been identified as Javaid Ahmed Sheikh S/O Ab Rasheed Sheikh & Bilal Ahmad Sheikh S/O Gh Rasool Sheikh, both residents of Nowpora Chadoora, Umeed Ahmed Wani S/O Mohd Ibrahim Wani R/O Pahroo Chadoora and Ajaz Ahmed Bhat S/O Bashir Ahmed Bhat R/O Wanpora Chadoora, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 190/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation taken up.
In the concluding para of the above referred statement Police said that persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units
