69th Cooperative Week celebration held at B’pora

Work enthusiastically for handholding of youth: Addl Registrar, Cooperatives

Bandipora: To commemorate 69th All India Cooperative Week being celebrated from 14th Nov to 20th November, the Department of Cooperatives Bandipora on Thursday organised a function here.
Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies Kashmir, Bilqees Jan was chief guest on the occasion while as DPO BandiporaMohd Ashraf Hakak was guest of honour.
The event also witnessed the unfurling of the Cooperative Flag by Additional Registrar Bilqeesjan to mark the celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, the Additional Registrar highlighted the role of cooperatives for inclusive growth and good governance through cooperatives for rural prosperity.
She stressed on officers and officials of the Cooperative Department to overcome challenges for the future of the department. She urged to focus on value addition of cooperative products for competing in market.
Bilqees Jan said, the need of the hour is to encourage the youth to take advantage of various Government schemes. She said the Govt is committed for handholding of youth in various employment avenues.
She urged the officers to work on making model cooperative societies and laid special emphasis in awareness regarding advantages of cooperative societies where the public can take advantage.
Deputy Registrar Cooperative societies MohdYounus Mir highlighted the achievements of the cooperative sector and future strategy for strengthening the cooperative movement in the district. He said the Department is working for registering new cooperatives and revival of already registered cooperatives.
He said a Super Market under Cooperative societies shall be established in Bandipora town for which land has already been identified.
The programme was attended by Assistant Registrar, Syed Zaid Bin Shamas; Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies Bandipora/HajinMohdMuqadas; Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies Sumbal/Gurez , Syed AsimIftikar; Sr. Auditor, MohdMuqsitWani, members of Cooperative Societies and other concerned.
