Baramulla : The District Rent Assessment Committee (DRAC) on Wednesday approved 47 rent assessment cases of different departments in a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner, BaramullaDr Syed SehrishAsgar, here.
The rent cases pertaining to Social Welfare Department, Handicraft, FCS&CA and other departments were approved by the Committee.
The Committee discussed the fixation of rent of various structures in which various government offices are functioning across the district.
As many as 60 rent assessment cases were put up for discussion out of which 47 cases were approved by the committee in the presence of house owners and respective departmental representatives whereas 13 cases of different departments were deferred for the next meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC directed the concerned authorities to ensure that Government buildings are prioritized for official accommodation and rented buildings remain the last option. She asked the officers to pay rent to the concerned owners of land and structures on time and ensure safety of the Government and rented property.
The meeting was attended by the Joint Director Planning M Yousuf Rather, Assistant Commissioner Revenue PeerzadaMumtaz Ahmad, Superintending Engineer R&B, Executive Engineer R&B, Tehsildar HQ besides various other concerned officers and house owners.
