Srinagar : Police in Budgam on Saturday solved a hit and run case within hours by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime and also seized the vehicle.
In a statement issued on Saturday Police said that PS Soibugh at 10.30 hours on received inputs about an accident that had occured at Hakermullah Budgam, Stating therein further that in the accident an unknown vehicle had hit and injured a 15 year old pedestrian namely Iman Gulzar, daughter of Gulzar Ahmed Hajam resident of Harkarmulla Budgam.
Stating that the injured was taken to JVC Hospital for treatment where she succumbed to her injuries, Police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR number 381/2022 was registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Budgam later and investigation was also initiated.
Police in it’s statement also said that while acting swiftly, a police party led by I/C Police Post Soibugh SI Gowhar Ahmad started a hot pursuit of the unknown driver and they were successful in arresting the accused driver after hectic efforts within hours of the incident.
Stating that the accused arrested by police has been identified as Shahid Nazir S/O Nazir Ahmad Hajam R/O Harkarmulla Budgam, Police in it’s statement furthermore said that above named accused has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody, adding that vehicle bearing registration No. JK04G-9135 involved in the hit & run case has also been seized and further investigation of the case is in progress.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement statement police assured people to act toughly against the individuals involved in criminal activities.
