Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has solved a theft case within hours by arresting three accused persons involved in the commission of crime and also recovered stolen property from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 10th November, a case FIR No. 295/2022 under relevant sections of law regarding theft of electronic gadgets and other essential tools from forest range office Handwara was registered at Police Station Handwara.
Stating that while acting swiftly, a team led by SHO Handwara started the investigation & developed some leads and on these leads, statements of witnesses & technical evidence, three persons involved in the offence were identified, traced and arrested, Police in it’s statement further said that the said accused have been identified as Amjid Sheikh S/o Ab Majeed, Irshad Ahmad Sheikh S/o Sana-ul-lah Sheikh, both residents of Sheikh Colony Bagatpora Handwara and Hilal Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Mohd R/o Sher Colony Sopore.
In the concluding para of the above referred statement Police said that on the disclosure of the above named accused the investigating team recovered stolen items including LCD, Grass Cutter, Gas Cylinder, Inverter Battery, Printer, Photostat Machine etc from their possession, Stating therein further that in this connection, Police has started investigation into the matter to ascertain further involvement of the accused persons in other similar cases.
