Rajouri :District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal on Friday chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the progress of installation of hand pumps.
During the meeting, the DDC sought a detailed report from the concerned officers about the progress achieved under installation of hand pumps wherein the concerned officers briefed about the same.
The meeting was apprised that against the target of installing 406 hand pumps under District Capex budget 2022-23, as many as 191 have been installed as on date.
While discussing the progress on repairing the non-operational hand-pumps, the meeting was informed that 124 handpumps have been repaired till date.
Regarding the progress achieved under Borewell approved under JJM, it was apprised that the tenders for 114 Borewells have been allotted while the work on 41 is complete.
Speaking in the meeting, the DDC asked the concerned officer to ensure that the target of installation of handpumps was achieved at the earliest to benefit the public in terms of drinking water facilities.
He also directed the concerned officers to get all the defunct hand pumps repaired at the earliest to mitigate the sufferings of the general public.
The DDC also asked them to monitor the progress on the installation and repair of handpumps on a daily basis and complete the targets at the earliest. He also directed the officers to submit a monthly drilling plan.
Among the others present in the meeting were ADDC, Pawan Kumar; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ExEnJal Shakti Mechanical, Manmohan Singh; ExEn Ground water and drilling division jammu and other concerned officers.
