Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Pulwama and also recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters, Srinagar Police said a police party of Police Station Pulwama at a checkpoint established at Babagund Pulwama intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number DL3CBQ-4882 with two persons on board and upon checking recovered 10 Daizpam Injectables and cash amount of Rs 9200/- from their possession. Stating that both the said accused persons identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Malik S/oMohd Abdullah Malik and Haris Nazir S/oNazir Ahmad Malik, both residents of Dalipora Pulwama were arrested on the spot and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 325/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pulwama and further investigation has been set into motion.
The police in it’s above quoted statement also appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law reiterating therein that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken as part of the efforts made to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace
