Jammu : The DGP J&K Police Dilbagh Singh on Wednesday while ncouraging and appreciating the hard work of the wards of Police personnel who have excelled in class 12th annual examination during the academic session 2021-2022sanctioned meritorious scholarships of over rupees 07.46 lakh in favour of 115 wards of serving police personnel.
In a statement issued from Police Media Centre PHQ, J&K Srinagar, police said that the PHQ vide order number 3768 of 2022, the DGP has sanctioned rupees 7200/- each in favour of 47 students who have secured more than 90% marks while as rupees 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 68 students who have secured 80% to 90% marks in the Annual Examination of class 12th during the academic session of 2021-22.Theamount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund.
The spokesperson on this occasion also said that the Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships, rewards, for wards of martyred and serving/retired Police personnel under different schemes to boost their morale.
In a concluding para of the above referred statement, police also said that during the current year the scholarships over rupees 1.54 Cr have been sanctioned in favour of 2538 wards of serving/martyrs/retired police personnel and SPOs who have excelled in the annual examinations or to support them to pursue academic education.
