DC Shopian holds weekly Block Diwas at Chitragam, Also inspects developmental works

Shopian : To reach out to the people living in the rural areas of the district for addressing their day to day grievances, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vashiya on Wednesday presided over a Public Grievance Redressal Camp under weekly Block Diwas at Chitragam.

During the Grievance Redressal Camp, PRI representatives, Public delegations and scores of individuals projected various issues and demands before the DC including  upgradation of local PHC and School, augmentation of water supply, uninterrupted power supply and other issues.

After giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the DC sought on spot response from the concerned District Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp and assured the people of Chitragam and other areas that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be taken up with concerned authorities on priority.

The DC also gave on the spot directions to the concerned officers for time bound redressal of the public issues.

Addressing the gathering, the DC said the purpose of holding such grievance redressal Camps is to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise redressal.

The DC also urged the local unemployed youth to come forward and take benefit from different Government self-employment schemes to earn a dignified livelihood for themselves and their family.

Later, the DC inspected the CheeraDunj Bridge connecting Chitragam with Reban, Yaripora, which collapsed due to recent heavy rains.

The DDC on the occasion directed the concerned executing agency, PMGSY for construction work of diversion immediately on war footing  basis and for speeding up of the pace of work for the well-being of the people of the area who have great expectations with the Government and District Administration.

Besides members of local PRIs, the DC was accompanied by the Chief Planning Officer, Khursheed Ahmad Khatana, SDM ZainaporaMushtaq Ahmad and officers of the District Administration.
