When promotion of tourism for more tourist attractions in a region like Jammu & Kashmir is the priority, the upgradation of tourist facilities is more important than conduct of promotional events both within and outside the country. More tourists can be attracted by the scenic beauty of Kashmir’s tourist hot spots only if the basic facilities are developed worth attraction for tourists both at developed and as well as under developed tourist destinations across Jammu & Kashmir. Promotional events within and outside the country can no doubt attract tourists to both developed and under developed tourist destinations in Jammu & Kashmir but if the tourists facilities are not worth attraction for the tourists on their arrival they will consequently get a bad impression about the tourist facilities at the both developed and as well as under developed tourist destinations of Jammu & Kashmir. Never forget that a bad impression about the tourist facilities once developed in the minds of the tourists will consequently sent out a bad impression about the tourist facilities of even famed tourist destinations of Kashmir Valley and as such wisdom demands that upgradation of tourist facilities is accorded top priority by the tourism department for furtherance of the causes of tourism promotion. Unfortunately tourism department spends more on tourism promotional events but very less on upgrading basic tourist facilities at both developed and as well as under developed tourist destinations in both Kashmir valley and as well as Jammu division. Though huts built by Tourism department, Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation and many Government departments over the period of years are not maintained well even at the famed tourist destinations of Kashmir valley but they are yet to attract the attention of the top brass of tourism and other concerned departments and Public Sector Undertakings (PSU).

Since the record tourist arrivals recorded this summer are likely to show unprecedented rise not only next summer but in the forthcoming winter season also, the focussed attention on upgradation of tourist facilities could give tourists a good impression about the tourist facilities at both the developed and under developed tourists destinations of both Kashmir Valley and Jammu divisions and as such they will go out with a very good impression about tourist facilities in Jammu & Kashmir. Above all tourism promotional events whether held within or outside the country would be grand successive if tourist facilities are developed worth attraction for tourist in Jammu & Kashmir.

Undoubtedly this time the attention of the tourism department is focused on winter tourism commencing shortly in Kashmir but upgradation of tourist facilities is equally important for tourist attractions both in summer and winter seasons in both Kashmir valley and Jammu division.
