Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from the Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police Party of PP Bus Stand Sopore under the supervision of SDPO Sopore during naka checking at Ahad Baba crossing intercepted a person in a suspicious manner and upon checking officers recovered 216 Spasmoproxyvon Plus capsules from his possession.
Stating that the said drug peddler has been identified as Umer Amin Banday son of Muhammad Amin Banday R/O Gousia Colony Noorbagh, Sopore, Police in it’s statement further said that the above named drug peddler has also been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, Stating therein further that after the incident police registered an FIR vide No. 252/2022 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Sopore and investigation has been taken up.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement Police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood and also reiterated that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
