Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested three person for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Budgam and also seized three vehicles from their in Budgam.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters, Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Budgam during naka checking at Sholipora Budgam seized three vehicles (Tippers bearing registration numbers JK04A-8385, JK04F-1130, JK13A-4566) and arrested three persons for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
Stating that the arrested persons have been identified as Mansoor Ahmed Mir S/o Ghulam Mohammad Mir R/o Jewalapora, Riyaz Ahmed Bhat S/o Ghulam Qadir Bhat R/o Heewudur and Murtaza Gul S/o Gh Mohammad Bhat R/o Hardiwail, Police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 379/2022 under relevant sections of law stands was later on registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation taken up.
In a concluding para of the above referred statement Police said that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
