Vigilance Awareness Week : 25 Digital Life Certificates of Pensioners updated in 3-days

Jammu :  EPFO Regional Office, Jammu Friday organised a vigilance awareness cum essay writing competition programme at Cooperative Public School, Marble Market as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2022 being observed from 31st October, 2022 to 06th November, 2022.

Students of the school enthusiastically participated in the event and expressed their views and thoughts on the topic of “Corruption Free India for a Developed Nation”, the theme for this year’s event, through this event.

Thirth Singh from Kishtwar came  to the office to update his Digital Life Certificate and the same was updated immediately. Digital Life certificate of Krishan Kumar Sharma, SwarnLata, Anchal Singh Jasrotia, Koshalya Devi, Gurmeet Singh, Brij Mohan Singh along with five others pensioners updated on 03.11.2022.

The  Digital life certificates of Baldev Singh, Imam Hasan Ansari, Rajinder Singh, Vijay Kumar Gupta, OnkarSaini, Puran Chand, Vijay Bhat, Sita Ram, SubashChander Sharma, Tilak Raj along with other 2 pensioners were updated Friday. Digital Life Certificate of Saki Mohd was also updated by face recognition through Mobile Android Application during Vigilance Awareness Week 2022.

Vigilance awareness cum essay competition programme at Cooperative Public School, Marble Market, Jammu was conducted by Vijay Choithani, Enforcement Officer and Bipin Kumar, Enforcement Officer from Regional Office, Jammu with the overall guidance of RizwanUddin, RPFC – I, Ajit Kumar Mishra, RPFC – II, and Harinder Singh, RPFC – II.

The programme was graced by the presence of JyotiChib, Principal of Cooperative Public School. All the students, teachers and other staff present in the event took an Integrity Pledge to uphold integrity in personal behaviour and curb the practice of corruption.

In the essay event held, first position was secured by DiyaRazdan, a student of class 11th, second position by Vinay Kumar, of class 9th, third position by Jaswinder Singh of class 10th and fourth position was secured by Sangram Singh. JyotiChib appreciated all the students for participating in the event and congratulated the winners of the event. She encouraged the students to be an aware and vigilant citizen and take all efforts to curb the practice of corruption in our country.

During the event, Vijay Choithani made students aware about the importance of eradicating the menace of corruption from India, for the progress of the nation and shared various initiatives undertaken by EPFO to deal with this menace apart from informing them about options such as grievance portals, social media platforms available to citizens in case of undue demand being made by any public servant and flagging any deficiency in service delivery by government and public sector organisations.

Bipin Kumar spoke about various types and levels of corruption such as coercive and collusive forms of corruption and corruption at different levels. He also talked about loss to the Indian economy due to corrupt practices and the need for a more transparent and corruption free society for realising the dream of making India a developed nation by the year 2047 when India will be celebrating 100 years of its independence.

Apart from this, other activities such as taking of integrity pledge by all the officers and staff of the office, organising special sessions for updating of JeevanPramaan of pensioners and special grievance redressal sessions are also being organised by RO Jammu during the vigilance awareness week 2022.
