Jammu : Jammu Municipal Corporation Mayor Rajinder Sharma Friday reviewed the installation and functioning of street lights here at a meeting attended by officers of JPDCL along with concerned contractors and EESL team.
The Mayor observed that complaints are pouring in about defunct streetlights so synergised efforts are required to improve the system.
He directed the concerned to form special teams to ensure that all wards are provided streetlights and ensure the functioning of already installed lights. He asked the concerned functionaries to take concrete measures to ensure that there was no dark spot in the city. “Every area should be covered on war footing to facilitate early installation and proper functioning of CCMS (central control and monitoring system). He asked to follow a well devised strategy for the success of the whole project.
The Mayor also reviewed the implementation of the Power Amnesty Scheme. He said this scheme aims to benefit every strata of society and every Councillor of JMC will ensure that the citizens of his area take the benefit of the power Amnesty Scheme- 2022. He urged upon officers of JKPDCL to ensure that all the cases under this scheme are dealt on priority
