Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested four persons in Budgam who were involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals and four vehicles have been also seized from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar ,Police said that it received inputs about illegal extraction of soil from Government land at Kultreh Chadoora following which a Police party of PS Chadoora raided the specific location and seized 3 tippers and a JCB besides, arrested 4 persons identified as Jaspal Singh S/o Vijay Singh R/o Nagaldem District Roopnagar Punjab A/P Kultreh, Shoaib Yaseen Zargar S/o Mohd Yaseen Zargar R/o Gowharpora, Ubaid Ahmad Shala S/o Mohd Ashraf R/o Gowherpora Chadoora and Tahir Yaseen Lone S/o Mohd Yaseen Lone R/o NihamaP ampore involved in the commission of crime.
Stating that officials later on registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Chadoora and initiated further investigation Police in the concluding para of the above referred statement said that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
