Poonch : -On the last day of B2V4 programme, all panchayats of Poonch district witnessed extensive visits by Visiting officers to review the development scenario there.

As part of the program, Panchayat Seri Khawaja of Lassana block was visited Commissioner Secretary Rural Development Department (RDD) and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kaur, as the Visiting Officer. She held interaction with the general public of the area during an impressive public meeting.

She also interacted with students and management at JamiaQasim-Ul-Uloom Seri Khawaja.

She inspected PHC building, anganwari centre, damaged bridge at Hurmi Dhaki, Soak Pits and Compost pits.

Further, she inspected various ongoing works in the Panchayat and  reviewed the pace of works  under different flagship programmes including MGNREGA, 14th F.C, PMAY and directed the concerned field functionaries to speed up the process of execution and ensure completion within stipulated time frame.

Commissioner Secretary also held Mahila Sabha, BalSabha, Panisamiti meeting, Bio Diversity Management Committee meeting and thorough discussion with general public.

She gave a patient hearing to various issues and demands of the local populace regarding healthcare, education, employment, SBM, JJM etc  as she advised local level functionaries to be sensitive towards locally felt needs while planning and formulating developmental plans.

Mandeep Kaur said, B2V4 is a unique initiative launched by the Jammu and Kashmir government for reaching out to the people at grassroots level creating an earnest desire for a decent standard of living among the rural masses. She said the prime objective of this programme is to strengthen Panchayats through outreach, transparency and prompt service delivery with focus on youth skills, self-employment, good governance and Panchayati Raj along with Nasha Mukt and Rozgar Yukt J&K.

Commissioner Secretary issued on spot instructions to the concerned departments for speedy redressal of the projected issues on priority. She emphasized the need of strong coordination among the government departments and local PRI members for enhanced grievance redressal and implementation of development works on ground.

On the occasion, Secretary also inspected the stalls being installed by different departments and enquired about the progress achieved under various schemes by the line departments with respect to set saturation targets.

DDC member, Ruksana Kohli and PRI’s expressed their vote of thanks to Commissioner Secretary RDD for listening to their grievances.

On the Occasion, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, InderJeet, assured that the district administration would further step up efforts to ensure all genuine demands and issues raised by the public during B2V4 shall be resolved in a time bound manner.

It is pertinent to mention that the visiting officers shall be designated as “Panchayat Prabharis” who will act as mentor officers for the Panchayats and the best performing districts and officers shall receive recognition and awards on the occasion of Republic Day.
