Drag Out Corruption From Society

We are familiar with the term corruption. It is a kind of tyranny. It is the struggle that common people encounter everyday for getting the benefits which the constitution has granted him/her. In public life it is a kind of getting out benefit through illicit means and there by abusing property and office. In private sector it a like making profits by exploitation. I mean there is exploitation of its employees and customers. It exists in every sector of society and at every stage of government offices from bottom to top level. People of the country do the practice of corruption by unfair methods to complete major and minor works because people have desire to earn a lot without putting efforts. Our country has improved by three places still it ranks 78th as compared to other countries. That means it is very far from being a corruption free country. In British rule there was corruption at peak. Our situation is worse in corruption. It has taken roots in our brains for getting advantage of ill gotten profits. It is a kind of mistreatment of public resources to get unfair benefits. It is a needless use of authority and position by anyone either in government or private organization. It creates negative impact on individual level, lowers national income. As per a survey 62 % of my countrymen are paying bribe to government official in their lives. As per another survey half of my countrymen pay bribes. The political parties should seek to alleviate the problem of corruption. They should shun dishonest methods. The basic inception of corruption started without leaders who have already done greater damage to our nation. People who run on principles are unrecognized. Those people who do not support corrupt practices are considered “ foolish “ in this modern society. In the previous year’s corruption was for getting wrong things done but now it for getting right thigs too. In our country it is treated as “respect“ reason behind it is respectable persons also indulge in this bad menace. In getting government job a person has to pay lakhs of rupees putting the criteria for that post aside. This system is adopted in almost all offices also, one has to pay bribe to an employee for getting the work done. For example if the house is built properly still then the officials/ers charge money. Threatening voters to vote for a particular party candidate is another form corruption. Tax evasion is next form of corruption.
Factors of corruption:- Nature of a person is the main factor. Any person who has a great thirst for luxuries results he/she gets involved in all the unscrupulous activities. The importance is not given to moral values in our educational system resulted our society has deteriorated. Punishment is inadequate. Some politicians lead to luxurious life and have no interests about the position of common masses. People fear to raise voice against elements who practice this bad menace like Bribe, Nepotism, Misappropriation and Patronage. Corruption exists at high, middle or in lower level. Corruption of systems formulating public policy, malpractices during defence purchases, public investment in infrastructure, supply of foodgrains for Public Distribution System are the examples of corruption. The lower leve of corruption occurs in everyday life. It needs immediate attention as it has minusced our development works. In other words it is a big threat for the whole nation we as good citizens of India are duty bound to fight it from all angles as soon as possible. Every citizen should fight against corruption strongly. A person feels that he should earn a lot not only for his life but for children also. He thinks he should earn even for generations. This author thinks a movement that should be called “youth movement” should be introduced in the country that can help to reduce the corruption. Students should be given assignments to know about his bad menace in the society. I think it is best to introduce a subject if not possible then education department should make it mandatory to fix ten minutes during school hours to ask students to start a group discussion in which they should discuss about the demerits of corruption in the society and its impacts on the coming generations. Former president, Dr. Abdul Kalam has shown great confidence in the youth to bring India out of the clutches of corruption. In government offices there are days this probably makes the common man consider paying bribes as “speed” money decentralized corruption cannot be tackled through any centralized fix. What is needed is to empower ordinary people to expose and report corruption locally, and systems that act promptly on these complaints to hold corrupt officials accountable. In my opinion single most effective tool available to ordinary citizens for exposing corruption in the last few years has been Right to Information (RTI) Act. As per a survey, this law has been used by crores of people, especially by the poorest who have understood the potential of the law. In 2011 Yak University gave a study that in India RTI Act is effective as paying a bribe in ensuring service delivery!
Happiness Index due to corruption: In our union territory, government has taken many digital initiatives to provide corruption free goverence. Citizens are empowered to report of any wrong doings in the departments. My own department has made it a historic success by issuing pass books to the land holders, it is a kind of transparency and corruption free record. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his team has made it possible to end the “corruption of clan” from the corridors of power. The Modi era is an era of “Iqbal” (authority) “insaaf” (Justice) and “Imaan” (Integrity) and prosperity of the Country. The one thing that needs to be ensured is proper, impartial and unbiased use of various anti –social regulations to take strong, deterrent and timely legal action against the offenders irrespective of their political influence or money power. Firm and strong steps are needed to curb the menace and an atmosphere has to be created where the good, patriotic, intellectuals come forward to serve the country with pride, virtue and honesty for the welfare of the people like his Excellency Narendra Modi Ji. All luxury corrupts either the morals or the state
