Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested four persons on accusations of involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of mining minerals in Ganderbal district and also seized 4 vehicles after getting sound inputs from the concerned quarters.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that it had received inputs about illegal extraction of soil from Government land at Kanir Chadoora .
Police in it’s above referred statement also said that while acting swiftly, a Police party of PS Chadoora raided the specific location and seized 3 tippers and a JCB besides arresting 4 persons identified as Farooq Ahmad S/o Atta Mohammad R/o Nambla Baramulla, Nazir Ahmad SofiS/o Mohd Abdullah R/o Hushroo, Reyaz Ahmad BhatS/o Abdul Rehman Bhat R/o Hushroo and Showkat Ahmad BhatS/o Fayaz Ahmad Bhat R/o Yarikalan Chadoora involved in the commission of crime.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Chadoora and further investigation has been initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement aid that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
