Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Ganderbal district and also recovered contraband substance from their possession also.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that a Police party of Police Station Lar, Ganderbal at a checkpoint established at Tehsilbagh Khranihama arrested two notorious drug peddlers identified as Aqib Nazir Wani S/o Nazir Ahmad Wani and Shamim Ahmad Bhat S/o Ghulam Nabi, both residents of Tullamulla Ganderbal and during search operation also recovered 700 grams of Bhung Patri from their possession.
The police in it’s statement also said that both the accused have been lodged in the jail and accordingly a case vide FIR No. 64/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Lar and investigation too has been initiated.
In the concluding para of the above referred statement, Police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
