‘Vigilance Awareness Week-2022’ commences across Kmr Divn

Srinagar : The Vigilance Awareness week commenced from on Monday across Kashmir with the theme “Corruption free India for a developed Nation”.

As part of observance of Vigilance Awareness Week from October 31 to November 06, the respective District Development Commissioners of all the districts of Kashmir division administered an integrity pledge to all officers and officials sensitizing them about corruption and allied issues.

Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week every year is taken up to encourage all stakeholders to collectively participate in the prevention of, and the fight against corruption and to raise public awareness regarding the existence, causes and gravity of and the threat posed by corruption.

This year the focus areas of the celebrations are Preventive Vigilance cum internal housekeeping activities and increasing public awareness about the perils of corruption inculcating the true spirit of participative vigilance and conducting Special Clearance Campaign for disposal of outstanding vigilance matters.

At Srinagar, the District Administration Srinagar on Mondayorganised pledge taking ceremonies at all Government Offices of the District.

The main function was held at the Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex where Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad AijazAsad administered an integrity pledge to Officers and other Officials.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Aijaz Assad stressed the Officers/Officials to strictly adhere to the rules and regulation of vigilance Department. He also asked the concerned officers to sensitize the employees and public about ill effects of corruption and contribute in corruption free and good governance to the common people.

The DC exhorted employees to make themselves aware of all kinds of corruption and ensure that no one should fall prey to corruption, adding that corruption is also banned in all religious teachings.

Meanwhile, similar pledge taking ceremonies were also held in other District Offices in Srinagar wherein the Officer/officials took oath with regard to observance of Vigilance Awareness Week.

 

At Anantnag, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, DrBasharatQayoomon Monday administered the oath/ pledge to the District / Sectoral Officers present regarding the observance of Vigilance Week at DC Office, here.

The officers pledged that they shall try to make India corruption free and will not accept corruption in any form and will be loyal towards the nation and will strive for upholding National Integrity.

While speaking on the occasion, DC said that the citizens of India must strive for making the Nation prosperous, corruption free and work for the welfare of the people.

He said that the administration and the society must work together towards the welfare of the society. He emphasized that corruption is a social menace and there is zero tolerance towards corrupt practices.

The pledge taking ceremony was attended by ADDC, ADC, ACR and employees of the DC Office.

Similar pledge taking ceremonies were held in all other department offices, health and educational institutions as well as Panchayats of the District.

At Shopian, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopain, Sachin Kumar Vaishya administered the Integrity Pledge to district level officers and officials during a ceremony held at Mini Secretariat, here.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC impressed upon all the officers to work with dedication and honesty. He said the administration is committed to provide corruption free governance and quality services.

Similar functions were also held across the district at Sub Division level and in all offices, educational institutions and in Back to Village Programmes.

At Kulgam, Vigilance Awareness Week celebrations were kick-started across the district and an Integrity pledge taking ceremony was held at the Mini Secretariat Kulgam and other offices, here.

At the mini-secretariat, the Integrity Pledge was administered by the Deputy Commissioner, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat in presence of District Vigilance Officer (ADC), Showkat Ahmad Rather among the district officers, officials.

On the occasion, all the participants pledged to work together to eradicate corruption and oppose all forms of corruption and foster a culture of honesty and integrity.

Meanwhile, an awareness programme was held and presided over by the Deputy Commissioner.

DVO Kulgam highlighted the importance of such awareness programmes and added that the need of the hour is to work together to eradicate corruption and oppose all forms of corruption.

At Bandipora, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, DrOwais Ahmad administered an integrity pledge to all officers and officials at mini Secretariat, here pledging to fight corruption and adhere to integrity.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Waseem Raja, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Parvaiz Rahim and other district officers of various departments along with the officials were present on the occasion.

The officers pledged to work together to eradicate corruption and oppose all forms of corruption. “We shall not offer or accept bribes and will foster a culture of honesty and integrity” they pledged.

DrOwais said that corruption has been one of the major obstacles to economic, political and social progress of our country. He stressed upon officials promoting ethical business practices and fostering a culture of honesty and integrity.

He said the administration is committed to provide corruption free governance and quality services.

Similar functions were held across the district at Sub Division level and in all offices, educational institutions and in Back to Village Programmes.

SDM SumbalDr Bashir Ahmad administered oath to the officers at DakBunglow while SDM GurezMudasir Ahmad administered oath to the officers at Dawar.
