Srinagar : Police on Monday claimed to have seized illicit timber and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters, Srinagar, Police said that PS Magam received information that one person namely Hilal Ahmad Shah S/O Ab Rashid Shah R/O Nagbal Khag has loaded illegally acquired timber in the form of logs in a vehicle (Maruti Wagon R) bearing registration number DL9CN-8043 and intends to transport it to other location. Stating that the said vehicle laden with illegally acquired timber (02 logs measuring 9 Sq.feet Deodar) was seized at Kandhama Magam , Police in it’s statement further said that the accused has been arrested on the spot and shifted to PS where he remains in custody, Stating therein further that the police registered a case vide FIR No. 168/2022 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Magam and investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of the above referred0 statement, police said that consistent actions against anti-social elements are taken to keep society free of crime. Police in it’s statement also resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
