Srinagar : As a mark of honour and part of commemorating the sacrifices of Police martyrs, ten days long festival on Monday concluded at DPL Ganderbal with huge fervor and enthusiasm.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters, Srinagar, police said that the festival started on 20th of October 2022 and concluded on Monday with Mini Marathon “Run for Unity” and Martyrs Police Premier League Volleyball Tournament Final at DPL Ganderbal. The Mini Marathon “Run for Unity” was flagged off by SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar-IPS, alongwithASP Ganderbal. The event was organised to foster the spirit of unity and integrity of the nation among the participants which started from DPL Ganderbal covering a distance of about 3Kms. More than 100 students of different age groups of District Ganderbal participated with keen interest and enthusiasm. Further, Grand finale of Martyrs Police Premier League Volleyball Tournament was played between BHSS Safapora and BHSS Manigam which was won by BHSS Safapora.
On this occasion, SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar appreciated all the participants for taking part in the different cultural, sports and educational events which were organised by Police. He also stated that Police will also organise more such events in future also to explore the talent of the local youth of the district. Moreover, SSP Ganderbal also thanked Chief Education Officer Ganderbal for his support and assistance during these events.
In the Mini Marathon, Danish Manzoor of BHSS Waskura, UbaidHameed of BHSS Batwina and Arsalan Sultan of BHSS Batwina got 1st, 2nd and 3rd postions respectively and were awarded with Cash rewards and appreciation Certificates by SSP Ganderbal. Besides, on the conclusion ceremony of ten days long festival was also held with the award distribution ceremony of Martyrs Police Premier League Ganderbal. Both Winner and Runner-up teams were awarded with cash prizes and Trophies.
In a concluding para of the statement, Muzaffar Jan, Dy SP DAR Ganderbal presented special vote of thanks to all the participants who took part in the different sports events organised by Police.
